Visual Poetry
My creative work combines my academic interest in gender studies, linguistics and the philosophy of language with my passion for visual art and poetry.
My current projects explore the role language plays in issues such as epistemic injustice, selfhood and articulability in both personal and public spheres. I am fascinated by the connections between language and self-expression, identity and power.
We can learn about society by analysing its language. We can learn about the power of language by putting it under the microscope. My research probes language's limits; the impact it has on thought and lived experience; the ways in which it shapes the world we live in; and how it is a powerful tool for social change.
My visual poetry has been included in publications by Illagrypho Press and the6ress.
